The mission of the Mid-Hudson Vegetarian Society, Inc. is to promote the vegetarian ethic in the Mid-Hudson (New York) region, educate the community and aid anyone in the pursuit of a totally vegetarian (vegan) cruelty-free and healthful lifestyle.

Board/Members Meetings:
are held every month usually on the second Sunday 1:30 PM
Alternates between Rhinebeck, Palenville, and Kingston.
Monthly Events: May be a pot-luck, restaurant outing or special event with a speaker. Check this space for updates.
Upcoming Events:
December 13 ~ Saturday 11:30 3:30 - Ulster County SPCA Holiday Party. MHVS will supply the vegan baked goods. Lets show how good cookies, brownies and bars can be when made with no animal products What can you make? Come meet the animals and celebrate with good people.
January 1 ~ Thursday 2-6 Annual Open House at the home of Nancy Gordon and Paul Swedenburg in Germantown greet the new year - Bring a vegan dish to share, beverages provided and Pauls renowned apple pancakes - $5 donation suggested.
January 17 ~ Saturday afternoon Quarterly Members Meeting Save the date and check the website for complete information. Brian Shapiro has agreed to speak for about ten minutes on the subject of Politics and Vegetarianism at this Membership meeting. He was very enthusiastic and said that he and his wife will also bring some delicious treats.
February 8 ~ Sunday 1:30 PM Board Meeting at the office, 38 East Market St.
February 8 ~ Sunday - 5:30 PM For the third year, we will supply and serve refreshments after the 4 PM Rhinebeck Chamber Music Concert Vegan appetizers and desserts needed.
March 14 ~ Saturday 5:30 PM ~ Church of the Messiah Village of Rhinebeck - The Great American Meatout Fabulous Potluck and guest speaker, Jeff Novick, a funny man with a serious message about the food industry.
April ~ MHVS annual meeting details in the next newsletter and on our website.
May 17 ~ Sunday afternoon Second annual Veggie Pride Parade in NYC Voted best vegetarian event by Veg News Magazine.
May 30 ~ Saturday 5 PM Our first ever get dressed up GALA (even though you love your MHVS and animal advocacy tees). Come out to dine and dance. A proper invitation will arrive for this event at Twin Lakes in Kingston.
